Minerals

Re-wiring the world to achieve carbon neutralisation goals, power new manufacturing capabilities will require an order of magnitude more minerals. Harder to find. Costly to exract and process.

Cu requirements for the global grid ca. 8x as much as wind turbines, solar panels and energy storage combined, and 1.5x the amount of copper for EV fleet.

The next generation of copper mines will not only have less copper but sharply declining grades.

Operating mines currently have an average grade of 0.53% while copper projects under development have an average grade of 0.39%.
